Partner Roy Kaufman, with Christina Papadopoulos and Jim Tuffin providing critical support, secured a defense verdict in Supreme Queens on May 10, 2019 for our client general surgeon. The 51-year-old plaintiff alleged a negligently performed anal fistulotomy resulting in three corrective surgeries and permanent future pain and suffering. After less than 30 minutes of deliberations, the jury returned a unanimous verdict finding no departures from the standard of care.
